We asked our carers to let us know which of our service users were alone over Christmas and then in December we went out visiting them with a Christmas hamper each. We travelled all over County Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Stockton. It really did bring a smile to their faces and the carers loved it too. Loneliness is a terrible thing but small gestures like this really do make a difference.
